LUCKNOW: The atrocious crime took place in Lucknow city as a 15 year old teen, who is also a blood cancer survivor was gang-raped by two youths in Sarojini nagar late on Saturday night. This horrible crime was done by the teen’s friend and his companion when the girl left home to buy groceries from a nearby market at around 4.30 pm on Saturday.


·  A 15-year-old blood cancer survivor was taken to a secluded place and raped by two persons.

·  She was looking for help on the main road when a passerby stopped and raped her.

·  The accused passerby Virendra Yadav (45) is a resident of Banthara had been arrested.


Around 8.30pm on Saturday Shubham the acquaintance of the girl called her up and invited her to go out and eat noodles. She left home around 9pm and met him. Shubham took her on his bike to a scheduled place near Chhilawaan Masjid in Sarojini nagar. The Police said that after chatting with a girl for over 20 minutes, Shubham asked her to meet his friend Sumit and insisted that they should go and eat noodles.

After covering some distance the two youths gang-raped her in a dark secluded spot and carried out this heinous crime. Later, they both escaped from the place, leaving the teen on the roadside. The girl somehow collected herself and managed to reach the main road. "I was unable to walk or speak properly and was trembling with fear," she told police.

She was looking for help on the main road when Virendra Yadav, who was passing by on his Bullet bike, had offered to help her out and said that he will drop her home. The girl was very scared and is in very bad condition accepted his offer. But, this man instead of helping her out, he took the minor to the roadside and raped her again. The teen was left there unconscious.


 "Despite being betrayed by an acquaintance, I trusted Virendra and sought his help as he appeared to be a good samaritan. He, too, took me to an isolated area and raped me before fleeing the spot," the survivor stated in her complaint.


Following the repeated violations, the girl couldn't move from the crime scene for a few hours and reached home about 3km from there well past midnight. When her family learnt about the crime, her father lodged a complaint with Sarojini nagar Police around 4.30am.


Girl was admitted in the hospital and is now stable. According to the Police, the survivor hailing from a very humble background is undergoing treatment and is now in a stable condition. The minor had undergone a medical examination and the report is awaited.


The accused passerby of Banthara resident Virendra Yadav (45) was arrested on Sunday morning from Bijnaur Chauraha. Police said that Yadav works at a construction site. Later, (Sumit) one of the two culprits was also arrested.

ASP (east) Sarvesh Mishra said Shubham belongs to the girl's locality and is familiar with the teen. Efforts are on to arrest him.


The information was confirmed by Lal Pratap Singh, circle officer (CO), Sarojini Nagar. A police spokesperson said the FIR was registered under IPC section 376-D (gang rape) and section 5G/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Sarojini Nagar police station against the acquaintance, his unidentified friend and Yadav.


The victims father has a small business in Sarojini nagar. She is the youngest of three daughters and isn't fighting cancer anymore. Her father said that she nurtures a dream of obtaining higher education.
