More than 500 BSP men joined Congress today in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Over five hundred Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) workers on Monday have joined the Congress party at a function held here.

While welcoming the new members in the party, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Sachin Pilot said the BSP men have joined  the party "unconditionally."

"The joining of Bahujan Samaj Party members and leaders would strengthen the Congress fold in a much bigger way," said Mr. Pilot on the occasion.

Mr. Pilot further said, "Not only people but small political parties like BSP were looking at Congress with a hope that the party will come to power after the next Assembly elections."

Mr. Pilot took on BJP and alleged that it had come to power in the state and then at the Centre by playing the "religion" card. Now BJP's countdown has started as people have become disillusioned with its poor working, he said.

The PCC chief said Congress is the party of all and cares for each individual regardless of caste, religion and creed hence those who have been joining and had joined it will get equal respect and place in the party.

When Mr. Pilot was asked about BJP's toll free membership campaign, he said it appeared to be a "miss call membership" programme.

He said the Congress party believes in real membership program and it enrolls only those persons who really want and deserve to be the party member.
