Rajasthan: In a Rajasthan-West Bengal by-elections, Congress won Rajasthan’s Mandalgarh seat and two Lok Sabha seats Ajmer and Alwar. TMC won Naopara in West Bengal. Counting of votes was underway on Thursday, for the bye-elections that were held in Rajasthan and West Bengal on Monday.

In Rajasthan, bye-elections were held in total of 3 seats, two in Lok Sabha seats Alwar and Ajmer and one Assembly constituency Mandalgarh. All three seats fell vacant in 2017, following the deaths of the incumbents, Ajmer’s MP Sanwar Lal Jat, Mandalgarh MLA Kirti Kumari and Alwar MP Mahant Chand Nath.

A total of 42 candidates were in the fray for the Three seats.

By defeating Bharatiya Janata Party contender Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan, Congress Vivek Dhakad won the Mandalgarh Assembly constituency by 12,976 votes.

Congress also maintained a significant lead as, Its candidate Karan Singh Yadav leads with  2,66,814 votes in Alwar after 43.68% vote count. BJP’s Jaswant Singh run second with 2,06,879 votes.

In Ajmer, the Congress was ahead of the BJP by 45000 votes. Its candidate Raghu Sharma was leading with 1,54,336 votes.

Earlier, Rajasthan Congress president Sachin Pilot said “I hope our leads will increase”, “Vasundhara Raje and her government have been totally rejected by people.”

In West Bengal elections held for the Uluberia Lok Sabha seat and the Noapara Assembly seat, both necessitated again by the deaths of the incumbents.

In Noapara, the Trinamool Congress’ Sunil Singh won the bye-elections with 3.6 lakhs votes. The BJP’s Sandip Banerjee came second receiving 38,711 votes, followed by Gargi Chaterjee of the CPI (M) with 35,487 votes and the Congress Gautam Bose received 10,527 votes. More than 3,400 people voted for None of the Above option in Noapara.

In Uluberia, the TMC’s Sajda Ahamed, widow of lawmaker Sultan Ahmed, bagged 5,88211 votes over Anupam Mallik of the BJP.

According to Police her husband, Rakesh Goyal, was not part of the crime.



Rajasthan MLA's Son arrested for Raming  BMW into Autorickshaw; leaves 3 dead, 5 Injured

There is an another incident of BMW hit and run case came into the light where an independent Rajasthan MLA Nand Kishor Maharia's car alleged driven by his son rammed a three wheeler late on Friday night in Jaipur.

The accident leaves three dead and six wounded including policemen. According to the police reports, the incident took place on saturday, around 2 am when a speeding BMW crushed the vehicles parked by the road.

It is said that at the time of this accident the MLA’s son Siddharth with two other persons  were present in the vehicle which subsequently rammed into a stationary police van too.

On asking about the mishappening, Siddharth Mehria, 20, son of independent legislator from Sikar, Nand Kishore Mehria, rejects the every charge.

He said, it was not him but his driver who was driving his car at the time  of accident.

"The whole thing happened because the rain no lights on the road and the auto was cross the road at a great speed. the right side of my vehicle banged into the right wheel of the auto and then my car hit the police van," Siddharth Mehria said while justifing himself.

Rajasthan BMW case: Court rejects MLA Maharia's son's bail Petition

A court rejected the bail application of Siddharth Maharia, who allegedly killed 3 men and injured five others by his BMW car earlier this month.

According to the additional PP Rajesh Pareek, Additional District Judge Barkat Ali rejected the bail application of Maharia.

On July 2, independent MLA Nandkishore Maharia's son Siddharth Maharia was driving his car at high speed and hit an autorickshaw and a police van leaving 3 passengers of an autorickshaw dead and 5 others including four policemen injured.

After that he was arrested under section 304 of IPC (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder).

Rajasthan women commission member's Selfie with rape victim sparks controversy

A single selfie clicked by the member of the Rajasthan State Commission for Women put the women commission on trouble.

The selfie with an rape survivor has sparked to a huge controversy.

Actually, the panel went to met 30 year-old rape accused. She was raped by her husband and his two brothers, and they also branded her while torturing her over a dowry demand of Rs. 51,000.

Expletives were inked on her forehead with an acid-based substance.

The moment when the panel had a word with the victim somebody took the photograph and incidentally,commission's chairperson Suman Sharma was also caught in that.

The picture shows that the Chairperson Suman Sharma is also in the selfie along with the member Somya Gurjar.

It is being said that the selfie was clicked by Gurjar when she along with chairperson had gone to meet the rape victim in Mahila police station.

On asking ,The commission's chairperson Suman Sharma said, The one who circulated the picture has shown disrespect to rape survivor. We will take note of it'."I was talking to the victim when the member of the commission clicked these selfies. I am not aware when she (Somya Gurjar) clicked.

I do not favour such act and has sought a written explanation from her," Ms Sharma told.

However, The police have registered a case.
