Ghaziabad: Three persons were arrested on Saturday near Radisson Blue Hotel for allegedly robbing 2.5 lakh from a collection agent in Kaushambi 12 days ago. The police recovered Rs 1.45 lakh from them. The mastermind Rohit Pal, a resident of Kaushambi is absconding.

According to the police, Pal planned to rob Sanjay Saini, who works in a prepaid calling card service firm.

“ Rohit ran a shop adjacent to the place from where Saini used to collect the money. From there, he made the robbery plan and conducted a proper recce of Saini’s movement for several days. Finally, on May 21, the four robbed Saini when he was on his way to a bank in Kaushambi,” said Sachin Malik, SHO, Indirapuram police station.

Sanjay Saini lodged an FIR against the four persons under sections 392 (robbery), 323 (assault) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC.

The call detail records of Saini, as well as footages from CCTV cameras installed in several areas had been scanned in order to gather details about the robbery. Besides, Rs 1.45 lakh, police have also recovered two country-made pistols, one revolver, and one scooter from the possession of the arrested persons.
