'Bisahada' village in Uttarpradesh is on high alert over 'panchayat' on beef controversy

In Uttarpradesh's Greater Noida the police has been put in a state of high alert.

According to the information the administration put the alert as a 'panchayat' has been called on Monday afternoon in Bisahada village.

As a reminder, this is the very same village where on September 28 last year a Muslim named Mohammad Akhlaq was lynched on the charge that he with his family consumed beaf.

In Mathura a government forensic lab in its released report said last week that the meat in question was of "cow or its progeny".

People wanted that there should be a case of cow slaughter to be registered against Akhlaq's family. On other side, some Hindu organisations with some villagers are in favour of releasing the 17 persons who are accused of Akhlaq killing.

However, it is informed that On Monday, the accused would be produced before a fast-track court where the charges would be fixed on them. The high court already granted the bail to the juvenile.

Since Sunday, The jawans of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary have been patrolling the village.

According to the officials, The Security has been tighten after following announcement by some Hindu frontal organisations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Rashtrawadi Pratap Sena, Goraksha Dal and Hindu Yuva Vahini that they will also participate in the panchayat.
