Petrol, Diesel price hike in Delhi after VAT increased

The increase in VAT by the Delhi government has affected the price of petrol and diesel in the state. Petrol price has hiked by 96 paise per litre and the price of diesel has hiked by 53 paise per litre today.

VAT on Petrol has been raised from 25 per cent to 27 per cent whereas, on diesel it was increased from 16.6 per cent to 18 per cent. A pollution cess of Rs 0.25 per litre is also levied on diesel.

Now, the revised rates of petrol and diesel is Rs 59.99 per litre as against Rs 59.03 a litre and Rs 44.71 as opposed to Rs 44.18 respectively.
