Allahabad HC orders demolition of Supertech, Amrapali, Jagat Taran projects in Greater Noida

Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Monday ordered the state authorities to demolish Greater Noida's real estate projects launched by major builders including Amarpali, Supertech and Jagat Taran within two months. These buildings are situated in 3 villages.

According to the reports, the new order will affect thousands of home buyers who have invested their hard earn money in order to buy their own dwellings. The Allahabad High Court was hearing the plea filed by Jan Kalyan trust which had been demanding the removal of these constructions.

The court passed an order in which it has directed that the construction done in 2000 square metres area on land in Patwari village, said to be belonging to a cemetry, village societies and ponds should be stopped with immediate effect and be demolished within two months. 

Also, the constructions of  35,000 sq metres in Tuglaqpur village and 6000 sq metres land in Itaihara village should be stopped. The court directed the authorities to issue the builders an order to remove all the construction materials from the site and vacate the place within two months.

Notably, Supertech had courted controversy earlier with one of its projects next to the Okhla Bird santcuary in Noida was accused of violating environmental norms.

Greater Noida is one of the prime and most popular destinations in the National Capital Region for middle-class buyers to buy flats around New Delhi. With proposed metro stations and an international airport close by, the area is the fastest growing neighbourhood around the national capital.
