Mumbai: Amazon India, which has completed five years in India, managed to reach at the top while leaving behind many other companies. Celebrating its fifth anniversary Amazon is giving "Amazon Pay cashback" worth Rs. 250 to customers spending Rs. 1,000 or more on its online marketplace.

The cashback amount will be credited within three days of order shipping and the offer is valid once per customer.

CEO Jeff Bezos said in the letter “We’re five years into our journey, but as we say at Amazon, its Day 1 and I am energised and humbled by the opportunities ahead. Amazon.in is India ki apni dukaan,”. On our fifth anniversary in India, I want to say thank you all for your support and for making Amazon.in the most visited shopping site in India for the last two years,"  thanks to local innovations such as Udaan and I Have Space. "The progress is energising"

In the past five years, Amazon has grown from just one seller to 300,000. During the last one year amazon.in expanded its network and ensured that sellers from non-metros and smaller towns get easy access.

Bezos had also committed investments of $5 billion for the Indian market, after the announcement of the Flipkart-Walmart deal, Future Group’s founder Kishore Biyani had indicated he was ready to sell a stake to the global retailer. Sources said Biyani held discussions with both Amazon and Walmart. No comments were made by Amazon on this discussion with Biyani till now.
