Pak PM in Sri Lanka on a three-day visit

Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif is in Sri Lanka on a three-day visit to sign various agreements boosting bilateral ties, including in the areas of health and curb terrorism financing. He was received by Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the airport on his arrival yesterday.

The Pak PM will hold talks with President Maithripala Sirisena and other officials today. Several bilateral agreements, including in the areas of health, science and technology, trade, and curb terrorism financing will be signed during this visit. Also, business MoUs including deep sea fishing, cement, power, education and food will be signed.

Sharif is visiting Sri Lanka for the first time since he attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government summit in 2013.
