The Mahagatbhandhan had always been the talk of the town right from the day it happened. There were possibilties of it ruling the country especially with all the political leaders associated to it expressing the probability of its long life. But, who new that this alliance would be so short aged that it wouldn't last for an year even.

The BSP Supremo, Mayawati on Monday announced the breaking up of the alliance claiming that her party would now contest all future elections on its own. Before annoucing the end of the alliance, Mayawati conducted a meeting with her party workers. Mayawati lashed out at the Samajwadi Party on tweeter and at last announced the snap of the allaince stating SP's behaviour to be the reason behind and how they failed to retain their seats.

Mayawati had earlier also accused SP Chief of working for BJP under covers. She had also blamed the SP leaders' faulted leadrship to be the reasons behind the failure of the Mahagatbandhan. BSP Supremo in her statement of Monday said, “Therefore, in the interest of the party and the movement, now BSP will contest all future elections, big and small, on its own.
