The incident came to light on Saturday when a media personnel spotted the foreign national standing at the pavement with a remote control in his hands. The foreigner man is said to be of Russian decent.

"It was around 20-30 feet above the ground. The person had a remote control in his hands and was busy flying object before being interrupted," said a police officer.

The media personnel told the police that after he confronted the foreign national, he stopped the device and fled in a car, parked near the pavement. His car had a diplomatic registration number, pertaining to the Russian embassy, the media personnel told the police.

The incident was caught on camera and the footage, in which the foreigner is seen sporting a white T-shirt and shorts, has been given to Parliament Street police station, said the police official.

According to police, a special team is studying the video footage and action would be initiated accordingly.
