The Acute Encephalitis Syndrome continues to claim lives in the state of Bihar. The death toll seems to grow with a new pace everyday. 15 more children lost their lives owing to the disease that has been out in Bihar due to the infected Litchi fruits out in the market.

A grand total of 150 plus lives has been on the dead list now after the deadly outbreak of the AES in the state after the consumption of infected litchies. The highest number of lives are claimed in Muzaffarpur with 119 followed by Vaishali, Begusarai and Samastipur. Consumption of infected litchies besides dehydration and sleeping empty stomach has been found the reason the AES outbreak.

Health Department Officials along with the Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan visited the hospitals and held a high level meeting with the doctors. They have also started taking all the actions needed. A special team of Doctors and paramadical staff has also been sent to the state to aid patients. Doctors from Patna Medical College and Hospital along Dharbhanga Medical College and Hospital have also been called up to help after the orders of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.
