After a long term of speculations regarding the new President of the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party, an announcement by Rajnath Singh from Delhi on Monday ended all the queries and curiosity regarding the same. Ex- Health Minister and the Senior Leader of the party, Jagat Prakash Nadda has been assigned with the post of working President of the party however, the current Home Minister Amit Shah would continue to be the Party Chief.

JP Nadda a deligent and hard working member of the party had been selected as the new working president by the party board. Amit Shah would be the Chief but would not be performing the tasks of the post due to his commitments towards his Ministry. PM Modi in a tweet congratulated and expressed his confidence in Nadda and while other senior leaders too congratulated him for his post.

Also it is for the very first time that the Party has appointed a working president. last time in 2014 when Rajnath Singh rsigned from his post, JP Nadda was one amongst the nominees but Amit Shah took over as the Party Chief. In his announcement, Singh stated party people's wish to let Shah remain the Chief until the organisational elections of the party get done to be the reason behind letting Shah remain the Chief while the working of the post is handed over to Nadda.
