Mumbai:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mumbai on Saturday and addressed the convocation ceremony.

According to the sources, PM addressed the 56th annual convocation ceremony at Indian Institute of Technology(Bombay) on 11th August. Along with PM Modi, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar, Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao and State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also attended the convocation ceremony.

Before leaving for Mumbai, PM tweeted "Leaving for Mumbai, where I will join the convocation ceremony at IIT-B. Looking forward to interacting with bright youngsters. Will also inaugurate the new building of the Department of Energy Science and Engineering as well as Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering".

As per scheduled, after the speech, PM Modi also inaugurated the new building of the departmnet of Energy Science and Engeenering and Center for Environmental science and Engineering at IIT- B.

Remarks made by PM Modi in his speech at IIT bombay convocation ceremony:

*- PM said that great minds come from campuses and not rom government buildings. New idea generates from young mins, if u do not innovate, you will stagnate.

*- Modi said they were conceptualised to contribute to nation-building post Independence through use of technology.

*- PM Modi said" The nation is proud of IITs and what IIT graduates have achieved. The success of IITs led to the creation of engineering colleges around the country".

*- "They were inspired by the IITs and this led to India becoming one of the world's largest pools of technical manpower," said PM.

*- "All the IITs have built brand India globally. IIT students are at the forefront of some of the best start ups in India, PM asserted.
