Chattisgarh: A fierce encounter took place between the Maoists and Security Forces on Monday, in dense forest of Chattisgarh,Uttar Pradesh.

According to the information, 15 Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma district in the tribal Bastar region. About 16 weapons were seized by the security personnels.

Special Director General of Police, DM Awasthi said 16 weapons were recoverd from Mika tong forest, under Konta police station. Personnel of the district reserve guard, Special Task Force and Central Reserve police got the intelligence report that around 200 Maoists had planned a meeting the area, and thus they force launched an operation.

Sources revealed that 15 bodied have been recovered from the spot, so far. Further, investigation is underway.
