Ranchi: A look a like Burari's mass suicide case in New Delhi happened last month, again a collective suicide case of a family emerged in Ranchi district, Uttar Pradesh. A family of 7 members including two infants hang themselves on Sunday night.

According to the sources, the neighbours son went to the house to call one of the infant named (Drishti), as her school cab is waiting since long, as the child entered the house, which was left opened earlier he saw all the bodies, he immediately ran outside and informed his parents,the incident spread like fire among the neighbours and immediately informed the police about the incident.

Sources revealed that the police team reached the spot and sent the deceased to the post- mortem.The dead in the Ranchi house were identified as Shashi Kumar Jha, 65, a retired railway employee, his wife Gayatri Devi, 60, along with their sons Deepak Jha, 40, and Rupesh Jha, 39. Deepak’s wife Soni Jha, 38, and their children one-year-old son Jagu and six-year-old daughter Drishti were also found dead. Rupesh was unmarried.

According to police, The body of one of the two son found hanging from the ceiling along with the other five bodies drapped in a blanket. The second child found hanging near the bed in the other room.

Deputy inspector general of police (Ranchi Range) Amol V Homkar said that two suicide notes, one of 15 pages and other two pages were recovered by the police from the spot. 

Ranchi’s senior superintendent of police Anish Gupta said “Prima facie, investigations reveal that it seems the brothers had hanged themselves after killing the other five family members. Other angles are also being investigated,”. 

According to the details given by neighbours indicated that the family is facing a financial crisis and had to spend a huge amount on the medical treatement of Deepak's younger son Jagu.

SP Anish added that The exact cause of their death would be clear only after the autopsy. Investigation is underway.
