Shahjahanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a Kisan Kalyan Rally in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur on Saturday. The rally was attended by large number of farmers from near by areas.
While addressing a rally, PM Modi takes a jibe at Congress President Rahul Gandhi "Yesterday in parliament I asked them please tell me the reason for this no-confidence...when they could not give me a reason, woh gale pad gaye (he came and hugged me)... but could not give a satisfactory explanation".
Highlights of the speech:
*PM Modi takes dig at Rahul Gandhi and said "The nation saw yesterday that few people have their eyes set on PM’s chair''.
* "Till people are with me no party can do anything. When many parties get together muck is created and lotus blooms in the muck," said the Prime Minister.
*PM promised that the government is transferring the pending payments directly into the farmers’ accounts and are going to speed up the process in coming time.
*The government recently decided to give 80% additional profit over the MSP to sugarcane farmers. Our government has decided to increase the benefit to farmers selling sugarcane produce from Rs 20 to Rs 275 said PM Modi.
* "The priority of central govt & UP govt is to ensure that the hard work of the farmers of this nation is respected. This is the reason several decisions have been taken to benefit sugarcane farmers" said PM Narendra Modi.
*"The government has decided to give you a profit of about 80 per cent over your sugarcane input costs. We have also increased prices from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1800 for 14 other crops" said PM Modi.
*PM Modi said the ethanol production in our country was just 40 crore liters, but now due to the hard efforts, it had increased to 160 crore liters.
*PM Modi listed key decisions taken by his govt for welfare of farmers, said ruling parties in past lacked pro-farmer intentions. "Priority of Central and UP government is to ensure that the hard work of farmers is respected. This is the reason several decisions have been taken to benefit sugarcane farmers".
*PM Modi said "Opposition is running after PM's chair, ignoring the poor, youth and farmers. Previous governments did not have the will to help farmers".
*He said there is no place for ego and repression."Ahankaar, dambh aur daman ke sanskar aaj ka yuva Bharat sahne ko tayyar nahi hai. Chahe cycle ho ya haathi koi bhi ho saathi, svaarth ke iss poore swaang ko desh samajh chuka hai".
