The woman has alleged that when she went to renew her passport, the passport officer questioned her that how you can carry a Hindu name, when you were married to a Muslim youth and at the same time, asked the Muslim husband to change his religion.

Worried by this, the wife complained to Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on Twitter. After which the couple's passport has been issued. On the other hand, the concerned officer has been transferred and he has been sent to show cause notice.

Actually, Tanvi Seth and Mohammad Anaas Siddiqui had a love marriage in 2007. Passport of Anaas was to get renewed. For this, he got an appointment from the passport office in Lucknow on 20th June.

When the duo reached the office, a passport office employee Vikas Mishra asked them to change religion. The employee asked them to get married following the Hindu rituals.
