Supreme court adjourned the hearing of Asaram's bail plea for four weeks after a medical report stated that Asaram does not need surgery, his ailments can be taken care of by medicines.

The Supreme Court granted two weeks' time to Asaram's lawyer to look into report submitted by medical board consisting of AIIMS doctors.

Seven members of the medical board of AIIMS examined Asaram on January 1 as directed by the apex court to ascertain whether interim bail should be granted to him in Jodhpur rape case.

Earlier, Asaram had moved a bail application in the apex court and had submitted a medical report by a Jodhpur hospital, which had recommended a surgery stating that he was suffering from trigeminal neuralgia. Trigeminal neuralgia causes severe pain on the face or the forehead of the patient afflicted with it.

The court then sought a fresh medical report from a medical board of AIIMS rejecting the bail application.
