Virat Kohli highest paid cricketer in IPL; leaves Dhoni behind

The figures released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) say that India Test skipper Virat Kohli is the highest paid cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL), leaving behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Kohli's actual salary in Royal Challengers Bangalore was listed as Rs 15 crore. Whereas, Dhoni who was recently bought by the Pune will get Rs 12.5 crore.

Mumbai Indians' Harbhajan Singh and Ambati Rayudu are two other players who are getting more than what their teams were docked from the purse.

While Mumbai Indians were docked Rs 5.5 crore for retaining Harbhajan and Rs 4 crores for retaining Rayudu, they are being paid Rs 8 crore and Rs 6 crore respectively. West Indian batsman Chris Gayle and South African Faf du Plessis are among international gainers.
