Betting seems to be in trends in the cities especially when a tournament as big as ICC World Cup begins. This time too, the same seems to be happening. The Crime Branch on Saturday last week arrested 6 people who were exchanging bets on the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. The betting costed some 1.35 crores. The cops reached the spot and seized the phones, laptops and LED TVs of the accused groups. The groups has been reported to have accepting bets through some app called "Diamond."

The arrested six men namely Sandeep, Pankaj, Arun, Amit, Deepak Gupta and Rajeev Sachdev are from two different groups and are arrested under two different operations conducted by the Crime Branch. The operation team was led by DCP Joy Tirkey. The culprits were accepting bet rates through the mobile phones. In an interogation session, one of the accused revealed that they have also taken a flat on rent for the purpose of cricket booking.
