The suspense over  ' who will be the deputy' of Ravi Shashtri came to an end with the Board of Cricket control in  India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced Bharat Arun as the new bowling coach of Team India.

The name of Arun may have shocked many as it comes above former Indian Bowling maestro Zaheer Khan.

Head coach Ravi Shastri has suggested Arun's name in list of four candidates for bowling coach.

The four-member panel comprising Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji, CEO Rahul Johri, acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary and acting president CK Khanna, met in Mumbai this afternoon to pick the support staff.

Sanjay Bangar will continue to serve as assistant coach of the Indian Cricket team.

Bharat Arun has been given a full-time role with the team until the closure of the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
