Indian upfront left-handed batsman Gautam Gambhir will return to the Indian test Cricket team after two years. in the ongoing three test match series between India and New Zealand he will join the squad in Kolkata for second Test Match.

Gambhir was superb in Duleep Trophy tournament where he has scored 356 runs with an average of 71.20, he had four back to back half centuries in five innings and two scores of 90 plus. His last test match which he played for India was two years back against England.

KL Rahul India test match opener in this series suffered hamstring injury during running in the match and ruled out from rest of the series.

Gambhir had appeared for a fitness test at the NCA in Bangalore on Tuesday. The 34-year-old Delhi batsman, who played his last Test in August 2014 on India’s tour to England.
