Shahid-Mira’s classy reception card

Mumbai: The Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor after getting married to Mira Rajput on July 7 will be throwing a grand reception in Mumbai for friends from the industry on coming Sunday.

While Shahid-Mira's wedding card, designed by Delhi-based Ravish Kapoor, was simple and elegant, the reception card, which is also out, is stylish and classy in midnight blue colour. The invitation card for the reception has started doing the rounds on social networking sites.

The reception card, which is also designed by Ravish, has given an elegant feel with an art deco border. Taking a cue from the wedding invitation, the reception card also reads 'No gifts please, only blessings'.

According to a news paper report, sources from Ravish's office revealed, "When we met Shahid to discuss about his wedding card, he told us at the very first meeting that he was clear about what he wanted for his reception. He did not want the traditional celebration where the bride and groom sit in chairs and shake hands. He wanted it to be a celebration, a party that people enjoyed and were excited about. He wanted the card to convey that feeling and he definitely wanted it in midnight blue."

According to the sources, the 'Haider' star Shahid took personal interest in finalising the details of the reception card.

The invitation card of the reception is designed on blue plike paper and the art deco border is giving the card a classic elegant feel yet is celebratory.

Interestingly, the silver chrome plate used in the reception card can be taken out and used as a security pass to the reception venue. The sources also said in the interview, "Centered in the card is a chrome plate that contains the event information, this plate can be removed and is carried by the guests to the event, which doubles up as the security pass. The details are made on silver-plating, which gives the card a cool elegant sophisticated feel."
