Mumbai: "Dhadak"  the remake of Marathi movie "Sairat" was  released on Friday. A much awaited debut movie of Sridevi's and Boney Kapoor's daughter Jahnvi Kapoor.

 Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter is already a known name, having starred in Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds last year.

The first day collection is recorded about 8.71 crore, and in comparision proved to be bigger than the SOTY first day collection, of the Dharma production.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the figures of the film “#Dhadak takes a HEROIC START… Rarely does a film starring absolute newcomers open so well… Day 1 is higher than #StudentOfTheYear [₹ 8 cr]… Fri 8.50 cr. India biz.”

Director Shashank Khaitan said, “I am feeling calm and composed because of the way this film has turned out to be. I am really happy with it. The gun has been fired and now nothing is in our hands. So, I am just excited about the audience reaction. Praying that they will like the film.”

Actor Arjun Kapoor penned down to twitter "It’s out today #Dhadak !!! @ShashankKhaitan has made a heart warming & yet gut wrenching love story....he’s handled the 2 Of them so deftly. Ishan u have nailed the simplicity & energy of a young kid who just sees purity in love Janhvi u left me speechless so bloody proud of u".

The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan, including stars Ashutosh Rana, Kharaj Mukherjee and Aditya Kumar .
