Banned in 3 Indian states, Padmavati sets to hit srceens in UK on Dec 1

London: The controversial movie Padmavati, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been banned in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat and it will all likely to be banned in other states, but the periodic film has been cleared for screening in UK. British Board of Film Clasification (BBFC) has cleared the film for the UK audience.
In UK, the movie is passed without any cuts and 12A rating is given. The 12A rating means that less than 12 years of age children are not eligible to watch the film unless accompanied by an adult.
The British Censor Board has listed the film on its official website, stating, “‘Padmavati’ (12A) moderate violence, injury detail.” It also mentioned that “all known versions of this work passed uncut”.
But here in India, Padmavati is entangled in various protests, mainly from Rajput community. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been accused of distorting history. The Karni Sena and other fringe groups have been protesting as rumours arose that there is a romantic dream sequence between Rajput Queen Padmavati and Allauddin Khilji. But lately, Sanjay Leela Bhansali denied with all these rumours and made up a statement that there is no such sequence in the film.
Earlier scheduled to release in cinema halls on December 1, the release date of the film has been postponed by the makers till further notice.
