13th success to Samachar Plus's "WANTED" programme, Wanted criminal 'Mukeem Kala' arrested

Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Monday arrested an inter-state wanted criminal and his accomplice, carrying a reward of Rs. 100,000 and Rs. 50,000 respectively on their head, near Hamdard factory in Sihani gate police station area.

Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh said that Mukeem Kala is a notorious criminal and wanted at various police stations of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana in more than 23 cases of loot, dacoity and murder. His aide Sabir is wanted in four cases of loot and dacoity.

Acting on a tip-off that Kala was heading towards Lohia Nagar for committing some offence, the crime branch and Sihani Gate police signaled his car for checking. Instead of stopping the car, the occupants allegedly fired indiscriminately towards the police team, the SSP said.

The police retaliated the fire in which police crime branch in-charge Avneesh Gautam and constable Bhupendra sustained injuries.

Later, police cornered the car and the duo were arrested.

Police recovered a 9mm carbine, one 9mm pistol, a 32 bore pistol, one double barrel 12 bore gun, live cartridges and two police uniforms from the car they were traveling.

During sustained interrogation, Kala admitted that he looted the Tanishq showroom at Saharanpur wearing police uniform.

He also confessed of Deoband robbery, a petrol pump loot in Udaipur, and murders in Saharanpur and Shamli districts, the SSP added.

"A case has been registered against two criminals and further investigations are on," added the SSP.
