Republic Day honour for 26 Ghaziabad Police

Twenty six Ghaziabad Police officers were honoured at a Republic Day function held at Police Lines in Ghaziabad.

Rajya Sabha MP and senior Samajwadi Party functionary Ram Gopal Yadav was the chief guest on the occasion.

Those felicitated at the function, attended by DM Vimal Kumar Sharma, SSP Dharmendra Singh and GDA vice-chairman Santosh Yadav, included a DSP, 4 SHOs, 2 head constables and 19 constables.

Stressing on the need for equality in social, political and economic justice, promised to our country's citizens by the Constitution adopted on this day in 1950, Yadav said, "It's important to make the younger generation aware of the sacrifices made by their elders during the freedom struggle", said Yadav.

There was another function at the district collectorate in Raj Nagar, where DM Vimal Kumar Sharma hoisted the national flag.

City magistrate Kapil Singh visited houses of freedom fighters in the district and honoured them on the occasion.
