Swine flu hits Ghaziabad, first case of the season

The first swine flu of the season was recorded in the national capital with a woman from Ghaziabad breaking down to the virus.

According to hospital sources, the woman, who was from Ghaziabad's Model Town area, had been moved from Columbia hospital to Ganga Ram a few days back. She was bought in a critical state and both her lungs had stopped functioning. The woman was kept in an ICU.

She had the symptoms of fever and cold after which she was admitted to the hospital.

The woman tested positive for swine flu a few days later and her condition turned critical, said the hospital sources.

Two cases of swine flu have been reported in Delhi so far.

The health department has provided Tamiflu to any one who was in contact with the woman, including the hospital staff and her family members. This is also the first case of swine flu in Ghaziabad.
