Girl raped, shot, thrown into well; yet survives

A Delhi girl who was abducted by three youth from near her home after which she was raped, shot twice and then thrown into a well, gave death a slip in Tughlaqpur village of Greater Noida.

The incident occurred on November 22 when the victim was kidnapped by three youth from near her home in Delhi's Uttam Nagar locality. She was then repeatedly raped at a deserted farmhouse in Salempur Gurjar village in Greater Noida. The accused shot her during an escape attempt while they were supposedly bringing her back to Delhi.

The 16-year-old is now admitted at a Noida hospital and is in a critical condition. According to the doctors, surviving a 30-feet deep fall in a well along with two bullets in the chest is not an easy task.

The victim called out for help for a whole night while in the well. Finally, a young man who was visiting his farms heard her cries and informed the police.

The accused are between 18-20 years of age, said a police official. One of them is a resident of Ghaziabad while the other two live in Greater Noida.
