Noida residents to get rebate on timely payment of power bills

Kripal Singh, adviser (energy) to chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday announced that the residents of Noida will now enjoy rebates by paying their power bills on time. They will also get interest on security deposits of their power connections and extended deadlines to get their faulty bills corrected with no penalty levied on them.

This announcement was made in a meeting on erratic and inflated power bills with the RWA federation.

Anil Mittal, director (commercial); A K Gupta chief engineer (commercial); Mukul Singhal, superintending engineer Noida Circle; Raghvender Yadav, executive engineer; and other officials of the UP power department including executive engineers and SDMs attended the meeting which was held at DR Centre in Sector 58, Noida.

It was also decided that power bills would be charged on actual load consumption or 75% of the sanctioned load, whichever is higher as against the meter capacity of the bills. For example, if a consumer has a meter of 10kW then 75% of 10kW will be billed and not entire 10kW as consumption patterns indicate that only 60-70% of meter capacity is used for consumption.

The RWA umbrella body said that respective sector RWAs can be approached for help with any power related issues including bills.
