Ramdev demands PM Modi to impose nationwide ban on cow slaughter

Noida: Joining the beef politics row, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Sunday demanding a nationwide ban on the killing of cows. Ramdev opines that banning it will be a one-stop solution to the never ending conflict between Hindus and Muslims. He has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take an initiative in the matter, and instruct the Home Ministry to release the prohibitory orders.

“Even in a communally sensitive state of Uttar Pradesh, the ban on cow slaughtering has been imposed. If Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes initiative in the matter, the prohibition on killing of cow could be imposed in the entire nation,” Ramdev said today, after a holding a Yoga session at Indian coast guard ground in Noida with coast guard jawans.

According to the Baba Ramdev, a concrete decision in the matter could provide an ultimate solution to the ever-escalating communal tension in the nation.

“If the ban is imposed, neither cow would be slaughtered nor would there be any bloodshed between the Hindus and Muslims,” he added.

However, Ramdev also condemned the brutal murder of the 52-year-old Mohammed Akhlaq, who was  beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish was critically injured in an attack by a strong-mob on the night of September 28, saying that violence cannot be justified.
