Noida teen gets to meet CM after his photo of studying by roadside goes viral

13-year-old boy Harendra Singh Chauhan from Noida became an inspiration for most people as his photo of studying by the roadside under streetlight outside Noida City Centre Metro Station went viral on the social media.

A passerby saw and took picture of Harendra sitting on a pavement and finishing his homework. Next to him, laid a weighing scale and a cloth on which he had kept the money that he earned by offering people services to check their weight. The passerby posted his picture on Twitter and Facebook along with his story which went viral within no time as he became inspiration for people because of his determination to study.

Following this, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the boy for his education and livelihood of the family.

The CM met Harendra on Sunday in Lucknow and spoke to him about his future aspirations. Overwhelmed with the CM's gesture, Harendra said that he was grateful to the CM. "I was very excited to sit in an airplane. This was my first time and I loved it. I was not scared at all", he said.
