One-day strike of autos in Noida, Greater Noida today

The autorickshaw unions in Noida and Greater Noida will be supporting the one-day strike called by central trade unions today in protest against changes in labour laws. Some 12,000 autos run in the twin cities daily.

However, the unions in Ghaziabad are speaking in different voices. "We have decided not to join the strike on September 2 following a meeting among our members. Our autos will ply as usual", said Dilshad, president of the Ghaziabad Three-Wheeler Auto-Drivers' Association.

Meanwhile, the transport department officials said that they are not informed about any strike of autos in the cities. The roadway officials have agreed to run 15 additional buses in Noida as well as in Greater Noida.
