In a major mishap, two buildings in Greater Noida collapsed on Tuesday night after one of the under-construction building fell on the other. Three dead bodies have been recovered so far while many others are feared dead under scrap of the six-storey buildings that collapsed in Shah Beri village under Bisrakh police station.

Four National Disaster Response Force teams have reached the scene and a major rescue operation is underway.

"Operations will continue till all victims are rescued," NDRF commandant PK Srivastava told news agency.

 In a shocking incident took place in Noida when 25- year-old woman who was assumed dead,identified and cremated by her parents, came alive at her residence after 27 days. This is strange but miracle for the family.

Parents of woman could not be able to believe on their eyes after they saw her daughter Neetu, walked back to home after being cremated,  went missing on April 6. Her family members lodged a complaint with the police, suspecting woman's estranged husband Ram Lakhan's involvement behind the disappearance.

On April 24, the Noida police alerted Neetu's family members about a dead body which was found in sector 115. The woman's body was completely burnt and the family members identified her as Neetu.

Without matching the DNA samples, the police handed over the body to the family for last rituals. Family cremated the body next day.

Now the police are trying to find out the true identity of the woman who was found dead and cremated under the assumption that she was Neetu.

 A Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader was shot dead on Thursday evening in Greater Noida. The leader has been identified as Shin Kumar and he was also the Pradhan of Tigri village in Bisrakh.

In the tragic incident, two guards along with BJP leader Shivkumar killed by two unknown bike-borne assailants. According to sources accused came close to the car  in which the BJP leader was travelling and fired gunshots. After the shots were fired, the driver lost control over the car and rammed it into a divider.

Reports state that two other occupants from the car were also severely injured and were later admitted in a private hospital nearby. Following the accident, the locals present at the spot informed the concerned authorities. A police team also rushed to the spot to investigate the killings.


A deputy general manager (Dy GM) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) was shot dead by unknown criminals on Wednesday night in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida Sector 105 while he was returning home, police said on Thursday.

A senior police officer deployed at Noida said, “We are treating the incident as a case of murder for robbery.”

The victim has been identified as Amit Pandey, an employee of BHEL office in Lodhi Road in New Delhi. He is from Benaras but stayed in his apartment in Sapphire Tower 2 in Sector 104.

Police said, Pandey had gone missing since Wednesday evening. A missing report was filed by his brother-on-law Prabhat Dwivedi at Sector 39 police station on Thursday morning.

A manhunt by Pandey’s colleague and relatives was launched on Thursday afternoon. Around 4:40 PM on Thursday, they found Pandey’s mutilated body in a drain near Sector 105, hardly a kilometer from his residence.

According to Pandey’s friends and colleagues he use to walk back home from Noida City Centre Metro Station, a stretch of 8-kilometers, for health reasons.

An officer stationed at Sector 39 police station said, “His wallet, phone and wrist watch is missing. We have found a bullet injury between chest and neck.”

An 11-year-old Nigerian child was sodomised inside the campus of private school in Greater Noida in Sector Pi. A bookseller, in the school, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting the child, said police.

A six-member internal committee has been formed to probe alleged sexual assault of the student.

"The child was being assaulted since last three to four years but never told his parents. They came to us when they got to know. We're investigating," said SP Rural Greater Noida Sujata Singh.

The boy, son of a Nigerian expat, was studying in Class 6. 

A police official said that a complaint was made in the case after which the accused man was booked under Indian Penal Code Section 377 for unnatural offence, said the station house officer of Surajpur police station.
