William and Kate to visit Taj Mahal on April 16

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, will be visiting the Taj Mahal on April 16, Agra administration has confirmed the visit of the royal family received the programme schedule from the British High Commission.

It is almost after 24 years the royal family of Britain will be visiting the Taj Mahal in April and will also pay a visit to other monuments.

“The members of British royal family would arrive in city to visit the Taj Mahal on April 16, for which a programme schedule has been received,” informed an official from the administration.

It may be mentioned here that elaborate arrangements are being made for the visit of the British royal family.

The royal family will be given a red carpet welcome and ceremonial lounge at the Kheria airport. The royal couple will arrive during morning hours on April 16 and visit the Taj the same afternoon.

However after having dinner, the couple will fly off from the Kheria airport to Delhi and from their to London.

It is worth mention that in year 1992 in month of February, Princess Diana paid a visit to the monument and she also get pictures clicked with the marvel in the marble. The bench or the white marble seat where Princess Diana posed to the shutterbugs still is popularly known as the 'Diana seat'. Earlier, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip had visited the Taj Mahal in 1961.
