Yamuna Expressway Accident: Victim's daughter accuses Smriti of not providing any help

HRD minister Smriti Irani has been blamed of not helping the victim who died in the accident involving the cavalcade of the minister that occurred on Yamuna Expressway. The victim's daughter alleged today that Smriti did not help the victim despite their begging with 'folded hands'.

Ramesh Nagar, an Agra-based doctor, died in an accident in which his motorcycle was hit by a car in Irani's convoy on the expressway. One of his children, pillion riding with him, was also injured.

While Irani tweeted that she tried to help those who were injured in the accident, the victim's daughter said that she did not provide any kind of help. "The car of the minister hit us from behind. From another car, Irani came and I pleaded before her with folded hands to help us but she did not provide any help. Then another car came from behind and hit my father again and my father died. If the other car would not have hit my father, he might have been alive today", said the daughter.

"After the accident, Irani came to my family members but did not offer any help despite the latter pleading before her. She just left my sister and the cousin there", said Abhishek, her brother.

However, the minister's office denied the charges and also said that the vehicle killing Nagar was not part of the HRD minister's convoy.
