Smriti Irani meets with accident on Yamuna Expressway; escapes unhurt

HRD minister Smiriti Irani's convoy met with an accident on the Yamuna Expressway on Saturday while she was returning to Delhi after attending a meeting of the party's youth wing in Vrindavan.

Irani, who was accompanied by other senior leaders of BJP, received minor injuries. Reports say that she hurt her knee in the accident in which many cars crashed into each other.

According to reports, the accident was caused when a motorcyclist, Ramesh Kumar, hit a Honda City car. Irani's escort vehicle was just behind the Honda City. Kumar, a resident of Agra, died in the accident.

The union minister took to Twitter to inform of her well-being and also ensured that people injured in the accident were taken to hospital.
