Village pradhan bans liquor after getting elected

After taking oath as gram pradhan post panchayat polls in Nagla Bari of Kosikala block in Mathura district, Raju Singh, banned alcohol in the area.

The 35-year-old announced to impose fine of Rs 1,100 to 2,100 on those violating the rules and those informing about the violation would be rewarded with Rs 101 in the case of alcohol and Rs 501 in the case of drugs.

Singh called a meeting of village panchayat soon after taking oath on Sunday and asked those in favour of liquor ban to raise hands. Everybody present there raised their hands following which Singh announced his decision.

This move has been welcomed by all in the village as they claimed that Singh is the only pradhan who fulfilled his poll promise.
