Agra: CM Akhilesh suspends 2 officials over death of 3 infants at SN Medical college

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has suspended two officials at the Sarojini Naidu Medical College in Agra in connection with the death of three infants there. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has also asked the local administration to start a probe into the matter.

"The chief minister has ordered to suspend Chief Medical Superintendent Himanshu Yadav and head of the Pediatric department Rajeshwar Dayal with immediate effect," a government spokesperson said, adding, stern action would be taken against the doctors at the hospital if any laxity is found.

Mr Yadav has also directed to remove the SN Medical College's principal, AK Agarwal and appoint SK Garg in his place.

Reportedly, the three infants had allegedly died due to power outage for over six hours on Monday.

Mr. Yadav has ordered a probe into the matter and has asked to submit the report as early as possible.
