Seven cities-themed park to come up in Agra

One-thousand acre theme park-Seven Cities, which would depict the history and culture of seven cities of different eras, is in the offing at the Taj city with whooping cost of around Rs 10,000 crores.

In this regard, veteran actor turned producer and realtor Sanjay Khan inspected the proposed land for theme park in Etmadpur and discussed the problems, coming out in his dream project of theme park, with district administrative officials.

Under the initiative, the theme park would be constructed on around 1000 acre land including 700 acre land would be acquired from farmers and around 300 acre land would be provided by the Agra Development Authority (ADA) from its land bank. The acquisition of 700 acre land would affect around 500 farmers but the affected farmers would be provided around Rs 450 crores as compensation by the ADA.

At present around 580 acres land has been acquired and the process of remaining 480 acres is underway. SDM, Etmadpur JP Singh informed that around 70% contracts with farmers have been done.

The park would have seven star luxury hotels, small hotels and restaurants and a convention centre, gaming zones, a mono-rail, and a whole lot of attractions for the tourists.

Later, Khan along with Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) officials visited the land including villages Raghubans Pura, Nagla Nathauli and Rahankalan.

He also asked the officials to interact with the farmers to convince them for the land deal and if they agree then the farmers would be shifted to a colony, at Rehankala village besides compensation for houses would also be provided to them along with the land in place of land for theme park.

However, developing this theme park is not a cake walk for the sponsors as Agra city is under Taj Trapezium Zone (TTZ), Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) would have to take permission from Supreme Court.
