Farmers are facing heavy crop loss, which happened due to untimely rain in west UP. The 35-year-old Biri Singh was the resident of Fatehabad and he hanged himself on Thursday in depression as earlier he wanted to store potato in cold storage but the owners denied and then he tried to sell his potato crops in wholesale market but after getting very low price for his crops, he took the dreaded decision.

Singh was under the bank debt and he took Rs four lakhs as loan from the ‘Gramin Bank’ for the farming of potato crop and was hoping that after the potato harvest in his 40 ‘Beegha’ land, he would easily get good price for his crop but untimely rains ruined his hope.

Biri Singh also tried to sell his harvest to the wholesale markets in the nearby cities. After losing all the hopes, he went to his farm on Thursday morning and hanged himself.
