19-year-old gangraped in a moving car in Allahabad

A 19-year-old girl, resident of Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh was gang raped and brutalised in a moving car on her way to Allahabad after a minor altercation with her mother. She was later dumped in a forest at Jhunsi.

The 19-year-old's father, an unskilled brick worker, is a resident of Allahabad. She has now been admitted to Daggrin Hospital where her condition is said to be critical. "The Uttar Pradesh Police told me that she was on her way to see me. After reaching a bus stand in Allahabad, four youths dragged her into their car and assaulted her for about four hours in the main city area. She was then taken to Jhunsi and thrown into the bushes", the victim's father said.

Meanwhile, Circle Officer Alka Bhatnagar said the victim was not in a position to record her statement. "We have so far understood from her hand gestures that four youths were involved. They raped and tortured her", she added.

According to Alka, the victim was found in a pool of blood.

A case has been registered against the unidentified youths under various sections of the law, and a manhunt has been launched to trace the accused.
