UP Board to issue online certificates to keep tab on fake results

Online documents will soon be issued by Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad for keeping a check on fake certificates and marksheets of class 10 and 12.

The process of digitisation of details of ongoing session has already started with online registration.

The digitisation of details of old students, who had passed out several decades back, would also commence after the end of board examinations. A decision to this effect was taken at the level of state principal secretary (secondary education) Jitendra Kumar recently.

The officials said that bar code will be used in the marksheets that would be fed in the server. In the existing certificates, hologram is used but that too had not helped in keeping a check on fake certificates.

"The ongoing project will help in curbing the menace of fake marksheets. In case of loss of marksheets or certificates, a duplicate one would be easily available with the click of a mouse after entering the roll number or enrolment number on the website. Students have to pay a minimal fee in the form of a bank challan or draft addressed to the board to get the online certificates", an official said.

All the students appearing for 2015 board examinations have applied online, so their data had been automatically fed into the server. Work for remaining years is left.
