Railway suffers loss of 71 lakh due to ticket cancellations

Foggy weather have badly affected the movement of trains running on the New Delhi-Howrah route which caused the North Central Railway a heavy financial loss of Rs. 71 lakh due to ticket cancellations.

NCR has suffered financial loss of Rs 70,91,836 at Allahabad from December 1 to 20. In unreserved category, 5,523 tickets were cancelled and Rs 9,36,473 were refunded. In the reserved category, 1,634 tickets were cancelled and Rs 61,55, 363 were refunded.

In the PRS category, 714 tickets were cancelled on December 15 and Rs 4,09,470 were refunded. On December 16, 782 tickets were cancelled and Rs 4,35,978 were refunded. On December 17, 541 tickets were cancelled and Rs 2,94,105 were refunded. On December 18, 785 tickets were cancelled and Rs 4,01,222 refunded. On December 19, 668 tickets were cancelled and Rs. 3,19,500 refunded. On December 20, 657 tickets were cancelled and Rs 3,98,470 were refunded.

As many as 269 unreserved tickets were cancelled and Rs 43,859 were refunded on December 15. On December 16, 310 tickets were cancelled and Rs 57,505 were refunded. On December 17, 328 tickets were cancelled and Rs 66,334 refunded. On December 18, 206 tickets were cancelled and Rs 30,829 refunded. On December 19, 272 tickets were cancelled and Rs 45,305 refunded. On December 20, 241 tickets were cancelled and Rs.43,141 refunded.
