Governor Ram Naik strikes controversy; says UP, Bihar people work as sweepers abroad

Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik stirred a huge controversy saying that the people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar used to do sweeping and moping in foreign countries.

This statement was given while the governor was addressing Kashi Vidyapeeth convocation, during which he suggested the youth to work hard. He said that most of the Indians working as specialist doctors and nurses abroad hail from Kerala, whereas, the people from UP, Bihar work as sweepers.

The 81-year-old invited another row after he accused the senior citizens for being a roadblock to the country's development. He said that the increased population of senior citizens is a serious problem as how long the government will continue to provide pensions to them.
