Azam Khan takes a dig at PM Modi for cancelling Varanasi visit

Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan slammed prime minister Narendra Modi for cancelling his Varanasi trip due to heavy rainfall.

Azam Khan on Sunday said he should not play with the emotions of the people.

"Whether it's fortune or misfortune of the people of Varanasi, they will decide, but keeping in mind the manner in which the visit has been cancelled for the second time. Now the 'badshah' of the country should lay foundation stone or inaugurate schemes from his office instead of holding public meetings", the UP minister said.

Praising Mulayam Singh Yadav, Azam Khan said that the SP chief never cancelled his trip due to foul weather.

The minister also appealed to the prime minister to give a compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to the farmers' family who committed suicide and government job to one family member.
