Etawah: Woman constable raped by two policemen

Etawah: A woman police constable in Uttar Pradesh has alleged that she was gangraped at gun point by two of her male colleagues and a driver while she was on duty. The incident took place on September 28 in Jhansi city where the victim was posted during an event.

The victim constable is a resident of Etawah city of the state. The case came to light when the victim filed a complaint with the police on Monday. Senior Superintendent of Etawah, Manzil Saini, informed the victim has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against three people.

"She was not willing to go to Jhansi out of fear, so we filed the case in our female police station," she said.

In her complaint, the victim has also named a female constable, Mithilesh, who accompanied her when the incident occurred. However, Saini said the latter has denied any involvement in the case and any results will be announced only after due investigation is over.

Reportedly, the victim said, "I and my female colleague were returning to Jhansi on September 28. Two constables and a driver in a car offered us a lift. When we got into the car, the driver took us to a desolated place."

"I don't recognise them (three accused) but my colleague, Mithilesh, knows them," the victim said.
