If Modi ji can be the Prime Minister, then why can't I? : Azam Khan

Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Azam Khan on Tuesday made a shocking allegation that India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi figures in the list of the top ten criminals of the world.

"If Modi ji can be the Prime Minister, then why can't I? Have you seen in Google whose name is there in world's ten top criminals? I have not said this. It is the Prime Minister's name," Khan told the media here.

Khan said he wants to become the Prime Minister of the nation, since he is the fittest person for the post. The minister even claimed that Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav would also suggest his name for the post at the right time.

"I am the fittest person to become the Prime Minister of the country and I aspire to be the Prime Minister. If Narendra Modi resigns and all MPs elect me the Prime Minister, it will send a good message across the country and India will progress each passing day. When the time comes, Mulayam Singh will propose my name," Khan said.

When Azam Khan was asked by the reporters about the hoardings being put up in front of Mulayam Singh's residence in Lucknow demanding his elevation to the Deputy Chief Minister post of Uttar Pradesh, the 67-year-old minister said, "You are insulting me. I want to become the Prime Minister and I deserve to hold that post. That's why I have removed posters of me becoming deputy CM of the state."
