Major fire in chemical factory in Kanpur

Kanpur: A major fire broke out at a chemical factory in Kanpur early this morning. So far, no causalities have been reported. Around ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.

According to an eye-witness, "the fire started at around 5.45 am. We were all sleeping nearby and we fled when the fire broke out. This is a chemical factory, there was an explosion and then the fire broke out."

Although, Fire Officer V.P. Srivastava on Thursday has confirmed that there were no causalities in the incident.

"We got the information at around 6.15 am. We rushed the fire tenders to the spot, then looking at the intensity of the fire we rushed in some more fire tenders. A total of ten fire tenders were sent to the spot. The fire has been brought under control and there are no causalities," he informed.
